Spring of Racism !!

The Marcile Khalifa show!!
one of Gulnaz's paintings

OKAY so we let Marcile Khalifa do what he wants, although i have nothing against the guy but i think he might have cross the line. i don't see it as a big deal, its just been blown out of proportion.

what is embaressing is when we dont let artissts in the country just because they are Iranian. According to Alwaqt news paper "Golnaz Fathi" was not given a Visa to enter Bahrain!!

You get the drift, we let someone who cross the line in, and we don't let a true artist in !!!

Dear Silver, your blog comparison between the two events in the "Spring of Culture" is mismatched, problems in the airport/visa do not relate to the type of art that is going to be preformed. However, this shows the lack of preparation by the organisers of the event for the coming performers/ artists, where the first thing they will do is to welcome them and apply easy access to the country.

Nothing wrong with Marcel Khalife young man. Everything wrong with every other Arab musician!

Well I'm not sure if I can call it racism or just utter un-curable stupidity. First, the government organized the Spring of Culture so how did ir not know about its own "rule" of not admitting Iranian? (rhetorical question.. no one in the government knows what the other is doing of course!)
Second, we are not admitting Iranians and Dubai is opening its doors to them and it making gazillions $$$ in trade and investment (plus some illegal stuff of course).
Nothing makes sense here..

Lulu, just to add to you point "Iran remained the largest export market for Dubai with total value of AED
28.7 billion."
According to Dubai’s Chamber of Commerce bulletin

Evil odd, i think i came out harsh on Marcel. I am not into that type of music but i heard a lot of good things about his music.

I would have to agree with ALI on this one. Plus, I have been to the Marcel Khalifa function, it was amazing, very artistic, and if people had an open mind about art and self expression, they would have seen that to. This however does not mean that everyone has to like it or go see it.... Just let people who want to be inspired have the freedom to do so.
