The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

Historical war epic 300 has been criticised as an attack on Iranian culture by government figures.

The "Good" in this movie are the Greek, while the "Bad" are the Persians and as for the "Ugly" the honor goes to Hollywood. I think in these historic movies, they think of the Greek as the west ( the democratic sophisticated people) and the Persians ( as the savages middle Easterners including Arabs and others).
I see clear signs of racism in this movies and other historic movies.
Nevertheless, looks like an enjoyable movie. I don't think its based on fact as the trailer shows a lot of fictions.

Hard feelings my friend, but the American media "Hollywood" have been always showing negative images for people other than Americans, such as the Vietnamese, Russians and more recently terrorism in Saudi Arabia "The Kingdom" movie.

"The movie never claims to be historically correct. It is based somewhat loosely on Frank Miller's 1998 comic book mini-series. Changes from history were made by Miller and Snyder so as to appeal to a wider audience and create a more exciting and visually stunning action movie, rather than a typical historical epic."

wider American Audience it is.... Non the less, it still continues to give a negative impression.
Same goes for presenting all Fench Men with the thin mustache and wearing the thin black hat and a striped red and white T-shirt.... you know what i mean;)

while I see your point (no one can deny Hollywood's role in disfiguring the truth etc), but 300 is NOT an historic epic. it's a work of fiction "based" on a graphic novel "inspired" by a historic event.

lets just enjoy the damned thing for once without being too paranoid!

Hi guys, I’ve seen it.

No one told me this movie is under the category of action/comedy! I’m not joking!! Guys you have to see it “for fun time” and you’ll know what I am talking about. However make sure it’s a pirated copy or downloaded from the net, it isn’t worth more than that.

Do “they” really think about the biggest empire the world has seen this way? Damn.
